Son, Now That You Have Grown...
The years have passed too quickly,
When did you grow to be a man-
It seems like just yesterday,
When they placed you in my hands.
I loved the little boy in you,
Your sweet, often dirt-streaked face.
The sounds of laughter from the yard,
As you gave the robins chase.
As each year has found you older,
On your way from boy to man.
I tried to hold your hand just so,
To strengthen you to stand.
Now suddenly, you're all grown-up,
With hopes and dreams to find.
New horizons and promises,
Now yours, instead of mine.
Son, with every step you've taken,
From baby, boy, to man.
I will always love you just as much,
As the day your life began.
